Listed... again!
A stab at short story writing saw my tale A Dying Breed shortlisted in the 2024 Bedford Competition.
Meanwhile, my unfinished manuscript Curlew Song was
shortlisted in the Page Turner Awards (mentorship category) 2023 and published in the Bardsy Spring Anthology 2023.
My unpublished historical novel, Veldt Hunter, was shortlisted for the Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize in 2020.
Veldt Hunter was also on the longlist in the Writing Category of the 2022 Page Turner Awards.
Pen for hire
I was, and still am, a journalist. In a world where everything is now connected I also make forays into PR and Comms.
This enthusiasm to gain new skills once took me into the maelstrom that is school-teaching (that really was an adventure!). It was also a diversion from what I really enjoy – writing. Examples of my feature writing can be found here:
