Guy Peters cannot escape his past. Or the ghosts that haunt it. Plagued by memories of his war against the Taliban and with his life unravelling, he seeks solace on an isolated farm in the high Pennines.

     Immersed in nature and a timeless landscape, he learns the life of a hill shepherd and falls in love with farmer's daughter Cathy.
